The town is small, but it offers big culinary options ranging from adorable coffee shops ( Johnson City Coffee Co.) to brewpubs ( Pecan Street Brewing) to biker-friendly burger joints (Fat Boy Burgers). Johnson (it was founded by a relative of the former president), is also quickly becoming a de facto destination for city dwellers escaping from San Antonio and Austin.
